Red Bull Flugtag Record Flight

Major Trouble and the Dirty Dixies at the Red Bull FlugtagSt. Paul, Minnesota, July 26, 2010 – Wipaire would like to congratulation several of its employees for their contribution to the record setting flight by Major Trouble and the Dirty Dixies at Red Bull Flugtag St. Paul held on July 24, 2010. Bob Wiplinger, Ryan Nordell, Doug Kiser and Elliot Bishop designed and built the B25 inspired aircraft and launching apparatus. Rachel Norman, of Lake & Air Training, demonstrated her flight capabilities in keeping the aircraft in flight for a full 5 seconds to go a distance of 207 feet. Major Trouble and the Dirty Dixies was entered into the competition by Jersey’s Bar & Grill and supported by several Wipaire employees. The theme was inspired by Miss Mitchell, the B25 owned by the Minnesota Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. The previous world record was 195 feet and was set at Red Bull Flugtag Austria in 2000.
